A taxi owner was shot dead on Bombay Road in Pietermaritzburg on Friday morning.
When Netcare911 paramedics arrived on scene they found that the man had already died due to the gunshot wound he sustained.
At the time of the incident the man was driving a bakkie, he was found slumped in his seat.
The man was declared dead on scene by Netcare911 paramedics.
This incident happened this morning at about 05h30.
The exact detail to the cause of the shooting will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
