A sad reflection of the crisis in South Africa! More white crosses are to be erected at the ‘White Cross Monument’ in memory of South African farmers who have been brutally murdered. This tribute will take place over the weekend of 6 to 8 September 2019.
Lita Cross Fourie the organiser said “After a little disappointment, I also have good news, i have worked very hard again to get this years tribute organized for the weekend, we will then be back at the white cross monument and plant new crosses to pay tribute to those who have already died.
People who want crosses for the day please don’t wait until the Friday, and then ask for a cross. Please order the cross in advance and by the end of July with your orders for crosses. The reason is that we need time to make the crosses and print the names and put them on the cross.
I have a person, who will make stickers, stop farm murders, with white crosses, which you can put on your vehicle. Mine already has one up. It will be for sale soon.
Then I would like to take this opportunity, to thank Anneline Kriel Bacon very much that she agreed to hand over the crosses this year, and also to be a speaker on Saturday. For those who do not know who she is, she was Miss World in 1974, and also Miss South Africa. Thank you very much Anneline for doing it for us free of charge.”
