South African farm murders: Orphaned children get assistance

Widower Johan van Wyk was shot 9 times on a farm in Lanseria in November 2018 and died of complications in June 2019. Van Wyk was attacked along with Hanli, his fiance and their four children who were in the home on the farm and witnessed the horrific incident. The Deja Vu shop said on social media ” Heartwarming moment! Due to your help with clothing donations and the success the shop, the Van Wyk Kids made the decision to donate 10% of the income towards the Laurika Potgieter Trust in aid of the Potgieter Kids. Widow Laurika Potgieter was murdered in her farm in her humble home on the outskirts of Hartbeespoort in 2016.”

Laurika Potgieter, was attacked and stabbed to death on the farm Uitval near Silkaatsnek, T-junction, Hartbeespoort on Wednesday 10 August 2016. Danielle Potgieter and Tony van Wyk were in the same class in Laerskool Broederstroom.
