It is shocking to think that garbage trucks have to be escorted by police in South Africa to prevent attacks on workers who want to work.
Temporary staff and citizens are cleaning up the mess in Alexandra because there has been no refuse collection due to Pikitup workers who are striking illegally.
Trucks had to be escorted by police and the community to prevent vandalism and attacks.
