Six foreign nationals are in custody following a multi-agency law enforcement operation that intercepted a vehicle linked to a recent truck robbery near Britstown.

The arrests were made during a Flying Squad Blitz Operation conducted by the Kimberley Flying Squad in collaboration with SAPS external crime-fighting stakeholders, the E2 group structure, and the SAPIS/Syntell network.

The operation was launched in response to a robbery and theft from a truck that occurred on the N10 road near Britstown between 23:55 on Saturday, 06 June 2026, and 02:30 on Sunday, 07 June 2026.

At approximately 13:00 on Sunday, 07 June 2026, the Flying Squad received intelligence from crime-fighting stakeholders that a vehicle involved in the incident was traveling toward Kimberley. Acting on this information, officers spotted a vehicle matching the description on the N12 highway towing a truck and successfully initiated a traffic stop.

Upon tactically approaching the vehicle, police found six male occupants inside. The suspects were ordered to disembark, and a comprehensive search of the vehicle was conducted.

During the search, officers recovered diesel valued at approximately R33,288 and tyres worth an estimated R144,000, both of which were reported stolen during the Britstown robbery. Police also seized several other items, including empty drums, hose pipes, a Dixon battery, tools, a tyre lever, jumper cables, cellphones, and bank cards.

Additionally, authorities confiscated the vehicle used in the interception—a Mazda bakkie valued at approximately R80,000—as well as the Fuso truck it was towing, valued at roughly R200,000.

The six suspects, identified as foreign national males aged between 21 and 42, have been arrested. They are currently being held on charges of robbery, theft from a motor vehicle, and assault.

Police investigations remain ongoing, and authorities indicate that additional charges may be added as the case develops.
