After reports of a structural collapse at Driehoek high school in Vanderbijlpark shortly before 08:30 on Friday morning 1 February 2019, Netcare 911 responded to the tragedy. Multiple people sustained injuries when a bridge collapsed, believed to have trapped people in the process.
Injuries ranging from minor to moderate, at least five people are in a critical condition and and some of the children died. Rescue teams were on the scene assisting the injured.
Tributes, condolences have been pouring in as the country prays for the children.
