Following an overwhelming response of over 650 applications from young people across Tembisa and surrounding communities, the Shimuzic Foundation, in partnership with the Hollywood Foundation, has officially selected 11 candidates for the 2026 cohort of THE HUB Internship Programme.
The selected interns were chosen after a rigorous two-day interview and assessment process designed to identify not only talent, but commitment, passion and long-term potential within the events and creative industries. The process included individual interviews, practical assessments and group exercises that tested leadership, creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Launched in 2023, THE HUB is a six-month, Level 5 SETA accredited internship programme that equips young people with practical training in event management, design and entrepreneurship. With a strong track record of graduate placements and continued industry involvement, the programme continues to serve as a sustainable pipeline for emerging event professionals.
The 2026 cohort represents a new chapter in the programme’s growth, reflecting both the demand for opportunity and the expanding impact of THE HUB within the community.

The Hollywood Foundation continues to play a pivotal role in supporting the programme’s implementation and long-term sustainability.
Over the next six months, the 2026 interns will undergo intensive training in event planning, budgeting, marketing, logistics and execution, while gaining hands-on experience at live events and large-scale productions hosted by the Shimuzic Foundation and its partners. Upon successful completion, interns will receive a recognised Level 5 SETA-accredited certificate, with high-performing participants considered for future placement opportunities.
