We’re delighted to announce that the finalists of the 2022 Africa Startup Ecosystem Builders Awards (ASEB AWARDS). We recorded over 2690 nominations from over 40 African Countries across 27 categories. After intense deliberation from the judges, over 175 companies and individuals from over 36 countries have made it as finalists with a possibility of winning an award this year. The categories are:

Click here for full details of finalists. The adjudicators are assessing and deliberating to finalise the results. ASEB has opened public voting on the 2nd of November 2022. These public votes will only count 20% towards the Finalist’s score.
Winners will be announced on 8 December 2022, in Johannesburg South Africa, at The Empire Venue. The program invites Ecosystem builders to deliberate on topics such as ‘How to Build a Successful Startup Ecosystem in your community”. Attendees will participate in hybrid panel discussions on “What Is the State of Investment Readiness for African Startups. Are HUBS Playing Enough Role to Produce Investment Ready Startups? and “How do to Build a Thriving Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystem”.
This will be followed by The African Startup Ecosystem Builders Awards gala dinner, to celebrate and recognise Africa’s most active doers.
ASEB Awards is a flagship program of the Setup A Startup. It is supported by HYBR, IRPAFRICA and SYNERTIUM. The awards recognise excellence in Africa’s startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem and celebrate unsung heroes in ecosystem building who are individuals, communities, institutions, and organisations that have demonstrated innovation, excellence, outstanding achievement, and impact in advancing African entrepreneurship.
