A man, believed to be in his 40s, was left critically injured when his was hit by a light motor vehicle on Kwagga Road in Pretoria West.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 00h00, they found a man lying in the left-hand lane of the road.
Quick assessments by paramedics showed that the man had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition.
Paramedics treated the man and provided him with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the man was transported to Kalafong Hospital for urgent treatment.
The vehicle that hit the man was apparently not found on the scene.
Local authorities will be launching an investigation into the matter.
