A 49-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon for possession of a stolen motor vehicle following a police stop on the N4 highway.

The arrest occurred at approximately 15:05 on 04 February at the Nkomazi Toll Plaza. Members of the Vehicle Identification Section (VIS) and SAPS Kaapmuiden, on a routine patrol, stopped a white Toyota GD-6 with Mpumalanga registration plates.

A police check confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen in Emalahleni. The suspect alleged he collected the vehicle from a Nelspruit car wash and was instructed to deliver it to Malelane.

He was charged with possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle and is scheduled to appear in the Barberton Magistrate’s Court today, 05 February 2026.
