A 30-year-old man was arrested at his residence in Shitlhelani village on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, for being in possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.

The arrest followed a tip-off received by police detectives who were actively tracing wanted suspects in the area. According to a police report, the intelligence information specifically pointed to a suspect at a house in Shitlhelani village in possession of the stolen vehicle.

Acting swiftly on the information, officers operationalised the lead and proceeded to the identified kraal. The owner of the property was summoned to the scene. Upon his arrival, he opened the garage, revealing a Mahindra S6 Karoo Bakkie inside.

Further investigation confirmed the vehicle’s status as stolen. It was positively identified as having been hijacked during a house robbery in the Boiketlong policing area of the North West Province.

The suspect was immediately placed under arrest. He is scheduled to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 18 September 2025, to face a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.
