During the Launch of 2024 Road Safety Festive Season Campaign, MEC for the Department of Community Safety, Roads and Transport (CSR&T) Mr. Jabu Mbalula promised residents and visitors of the Free State that there will be an increased visibility of Traffic Officers and roadblocks on the identified major roads in this festive season.
One such roadblock took place yesterday on the N1 near Glen in Bloemfontein. It commenced at 19:00 and concluded at 08:00 today, this morning where several non- complient motorists were arrested.
This demonstrates that, Provincial Traffic Officers are in full swing conducting roadblocks in collaboration with officials of the Department of Home Affairs, officials of South African Police Services and Law Enforcement Officers from Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC).This partnership is also aimed at ensuring that both motorists and pedestrians adhere with the rules and regulations of the road assisting everyone to reach their final destination…
