Farmers assist in the arrest of 4 stock thieves, Hennenman

On the 2 June 2022, at about 05:35 Constable Jerry Mosesi of Hennenman Visible Policing received an information from a resident of Hennenman about cows that were suspected to have been stolen and that there were seven unknown men in possession of the livestock.

The suspects were arrested in the district of Hennenman in the Bush while they were hiding themselves.

Four suspects aged 28 and 31 were arrested and found in possession of eight cows. Preliminary investigation reveals that two cows had been sold already.

A case of Stock Theft was registered at Ventersburg and Detective Sergeant Papie Sefafe of Lejweleputswa District Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit will be conducting the investigation.

The four suspects are facing Stock Theft and possession of suspected stolen live stock. They will appear on the 7 June 2022 in Ventersburg Magistrate Court.

The District Commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Maj Gen Lerato Molale praised a resident of Hennenman who trusted the Police of Hennenman with this sensitive information of Stock Theft and further applauded this collaboration of SAPS and Farmers to ensure that perpetrators were brought behind bars.
