April 22 2014 – Middelburg observer: This is an identikit picture of the black male attacker who tortured Ms Catharina Fourie and carved open a leg of her friend Deon van der Merwe on 7 March 2014 at the Pienaar Dam forest lodge.
Journalist Daleen Naude writes on 22 April 2014 that the identikit was compiled from descriptions by the Afrikaner victims. Ms Fourie said ‘his face is burned in my memory’ and the composite-picture was put together very quickly. She’s satisfied that ‘this is that panga-man’, she told the newspaper journalist. The man has threatened to ‘come back for her’ and she is terrified, she told the newspaper.
Ms Fourie and her friend Deon van der Merwe were attacked on 7 March 2014 in the forest-hut at the Pienaar Dam near Middelburg.
There reportedly were two attackers both black males: the man with the panga tortured Ms Fourie, slicing her across the shoulder blades, chest, hand and stomach. During the final slash with his panga, he tried to cut her throat: but she shielded herself and ducked and he nearly sliced off her thumb instead.
And his comrade bashed Mr van der Merwe with a hammer: so ferociously that he passed out.
Ms Fourie has already identified one suspect, Mduduzi Nkosi as the hammer-attacker, writes the Middelburg Observer.
After the panga-man tortured her and grabbed their two cellphones and a wallet, he told the terrified Afrikaner victim:
“I will be back for you’….
