The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Gauteng are demanding the immediate suspension of Lesedi Local Municipality manager Sibusiso Dlamini following damning forensic reports implicating him in sexual harassment and abuse of power.
The allegations stem from claims that Dlamini made unwanted sexual advances towards a junior employee and later retaliated against her when she refused. She was allegedly suspended after rejecting his advances but was later reinstated by a tribunal.
EFF caucus leader Isaac Khithika accused Dlamini of being a “predator” who abuses his authority, stating, “We don’t want him in the municipality at all. He does not understand that no means no.” The party is pressuring the municipal council to convene urgently and remove Dlamini from office.
The EFF has also called on the Gauteng MEC for Cooperative Governance to intervene, warning that failure to act would embolden workplace abuse.
Khithika vowed to mobilize public pressure, declaring, “This matter will not be swept under the rug.” The ANC-led municipality faces growing scrutiny over its handling of the case.
