Agricultural leaders and industrialists are hoping “out of fear” for a 60% support for the ANC so that the party can carry out its controversial land grabbing program and eliminate the uncertainty threatening farmers. Farmers are deeply concerned about how the ANC president, Cyril Ramaphosa, is going to implement the land grab program, and fears the possibility of being left behind with an uneconomic unit.
Ramaphosa has promised the country’s voters that land reform (land grab) will be implemented without compensation, regardless of the country’s constitution.
The uncertainty has been exacerbated by the ANC president’s record of untruths. Distrust of his possible actions is being experienced (from all sides).
Whites have repeatedly expressed their concern about the effects of the land theft greed that suddenly emerged, as food security is definitely being compromised.
If untrained blacks enter agriculture on previously highly productive farms, a serious food shortage can be expected.
