African News Agency (ANA)

Axe-murder accused Henri van Breda is expected to appear in the Western Cape High Court on Friday for a pre-trial conference.

He is accused of the brutal murders of his parents and brother, and the attempted murder of his sister in 2015.

He allegedly used an axe to murder his mother, Teresa, his father, Martin, and his 22-year-old brother Rudi at the luxury home where they lived in the De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate.

His teenage sister Marli survived the attack, but required emergency surgery. She has since made a full recovery.

Van Breda is reportedly a tik addict and was arrested for drug possession in September. He was released on R1,000 bail in that matter.

He is currently on bail of R100,000 in the triple murder case.
