Following an arms cache that was recovered in Malmesbury last week, members of the Malmesbury Crime Prevention Unit, determined to rid their communities of firearms in the wrong hands led to the arrest of four males aged 19, 31, 35 and 40 for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in the Saamstaan and Ilingelethu areas on Sunday 19 February 2023.
The members received information about firearms at the different locations and operationalized the information and searched the premises.
A rifle and ammunition were confiscated during the searches of these premises.
The suspects made their court appearances in the Malmesbury Magistrates court.
