A suspect was detained and then later released on Tuesday for jumping into a premises and fiddling with a parked vehicle.
Bassett Central received a call for assistance to an address in Lataba Street, Kuilsriver at 21H04 and dispatched Armed Response officer Jansen Van Vuuren to investigate.
The officer was informed that a suspect had jumped into a premises and was fiddling with a parked vehicle.
The home owner noticed the suspect and shouted at him before the suspect ran away.
The officer arrived in Lataba Street and noticed the suspect further down the road matching the same description as what he was given.
The officer detained the suspect and the complainant positively identified the culprit. The home owner did not want to lay a charge though and Kuislriver SAPS members were cancelled.
