Charl Munnik, 44, the owner of Munnik Jewelers in Hoog Street, Worcester was shot and killed in an armed robbery at his shop on Friday morning 29 January 2021 at around 09:30.
Charl was in the flat where he stays on top of the shop when 4 black men entered the store and started to rob the store.
Charl’s 80 year old mother, Esme, was also in the shop when the robbers entered. The robbers pushed her around in the shop before she managed to go upstairs to her son.
Charl went downstairs with his firearm to protect his remaining personnel. He was shot dead by a robber who was in the back of the shop at that stage.
The attackers fled in a blue Honda Civic car reg nr CW77835.
