The investigation into the circumstances surrounding an attempted murder case, where a mother allegedly stabbed her two-year-old boy in his neck, led to the arrest of the 27-year-old suspect this morning in De Doorns.
She is expected to make a court appearance in Khayelitsha tomorrow on a charge of attempted murder. The incident occurred at their residence in Makhaza on the morning of 5 February 2017, where after the suspect fled.
Crime against women and children are high on the priority list of the Western Cape police and we will not tolerate such acts of violence to be perpetrated against children in their own homes.
