The provincial commissioner of the Western Cape, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula has expressed shock following the death of an off duty police officer who was shot and killed in Site B, Khayelitsha on the night of 18 November 2018.

According to information, the 40 year old police sergeant who was stationed at Mitchell’s Plain SAPS detectives was in Khayelitsha when he was shot by three unidentified gunmen who robbed him off his cellphone. The member was unarmed at the time of the incident.

The SAPS management led by the provincial commissioner, has expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family and colleagues of the member.
