A 19-year-old man appeared in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning on charges of murder and attempted murder.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk said the man was arrested in connection with the brutal killing of 18-year-old Lekita Moore on Sunday morning.
Her mutilated body was discovered in a field along Tuna Road in Valhalla Park.
Van Wyk said she had mulitple stab wounds.
He did not want to elaborate on the condition of a friend she was reportedly with who was apparently also stabbed and is in a critical condition in hospital.
