A farm attack took place on 23 may 2019, in Paarl, Western Cape province. Four attackers wearing balaclavas gained access to the farm manager’s house through an open window. The victims in the home were tied up and the home ransacked. TV’s and knives were robbed, the suspects were looking for firearms.

SAPS and security services were on the scene, there were no injuries and there have been no arrests. Tracks of the attackers led towards mountains. There is no other information available at this stage.

There have been a number of attacks in the area in a matter of days. On 20 May 2019, in Paarl, Western Cape province. The owner of a prominent wine farm was ambushed and attacked by four suspects when he got home from locking up the restaurant on the farm.

And in Vlottenburg on 22 May 2019, in Stellenbosch, Western Cape province. A man was attacked on his farm by four suspects armed with machetes. the suspects fled and were pursued by the South African Police. The SAPS reported that during the pursuit a Stellenbosch constable was shot and fatally wounded.

And on 17 May 2019, in De Doorns, Western Cape province. At around 21:15 five armed suspects violently assaulted an elderly couple after which they were tied up and robbed.
