Swift response by SAPS Kwanonqaba, Western Cape leads to arrest of father and son.
A 53-year-old father and his 19-year-old son are scheduled to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 11 October 2016 in connection with the murder of an off-duty correctional officer in Kwanonqaba yesterday morning.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the deceased, went to the neighbours in Matheza Street, Kwanonqaba to fetch his girlfriend this morning at about 00:30 when an argument erupted between him and the suspects. It is further alleged that both the suspects went to their home where they collected knives to attack the deceased with. A fight ensued and lead to the alleged fatal stabbing of the victim.
Subsequent to further investigation, Kwanonqaba detectives arrested the pair and confiscated their blood stained clothes as well as a knife that was found on the scene.
Investigation into the murder case is ongoing.
