It is commendable that the South African Police have arrested an armed and dangerous criminal again. The man has been charged with armed robbery, two cases of murder and attempted murder plus a host of other criminal charges. That is the problem in South Africa, a criminal gets arrested and is out on bail the next day. Why does the justice system give bail to murderers? Now that he has been arrested again, how soon will the court let him out to continue his criminal activities.

A 38-year-old suspect with a slew of criminal offenses to his name, has been arrested following a cash in transit robbery on Friday afternoon, in Kraaifontein.On Friday 2016-06-17 just after 13:00 at Belmont Center, Van Riebeeck Road, Kraaifontein, cash in transit guards were in the process of loading cash into an ATM, when suddenly three armed unknown suspects accosted them and robbed them of firearms and four bags containing a yet to be determined amount of cash, before fleeing the scene.The Hawks Cash in Transit Investigation team was summoned on the scene and circumstances surrounding the incident were probed Investigations led the team to Bigaba Street, Wallacedene, a short distance from the scene where an Opel bakkie, fitting the description of one of the getaway vehicles, was found abandoned.Subsequent chain of events and information led the team to La Boheme Rd, where a second vehicle a VW Caravelle was found abandoned. The suspect unsuccessfully tried to outrun them when they found him next to the said vehicle and was arrested.According to information available at this stage, the Khayelitsha based suspect is currently facing a litany of criminal cases, among them two of murder, attempted murder as well as cash in transit robbery.His accomplices are still at large, and we urge members of the public not to confront them as they are considered armed and dangerous, but to merely report their whereabouts to authorities.
