The bankrupt ANC broadcaster, the SABC, plans to close five offices and pay off 37% of their staff. This includes 19 general managers which emphasize the fact that top-level government agencies are overloaded with incompetent, useless and ‘do nothing’ cadres.
If the SABC does not receive further funding from the state, they may end up in the position that the broadcaster will close down.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Communications and the management of the SABC are looking at reducing the number of posts.
