On Wednesday night September 9,2015 at 23:43 Gordon’s Bay Security (GBSEC) officer Rudy Oosthuyse received a burglar alarm alert in De Vos street, Strand.
Arriving at the scene he saw movement inside a part of the house while the rightful owner of the house confirmed to him through a window that there should not be anyone else inside their property.
Back-up GBSEC vehicles soon arrived as well as members of the dedicated Strand Neighbourhood Watch.
Officers entered the entertainment room of the residence and Rudy Oosthuyse found a male suspect hiding on top of a toilet.
The suspect was detained and handed over to Strand SAPS whom also arrived swiftly at the scene.
