President Cyril Ramaphosa plans confront his predecessor, Jacob Zuma, on his public media comments on the ANC’s policy. Ramaphosa, who launched the ANC’s election manifesto in KZN, was apparently advised to engage with Zuma on various issues and also on his court cases.

The advice was given to the ANC president in view of possible resistance from the Zuma camp, which is clearly another significant factor in the province.

The Ramaphosa supporters are worried that he may be defeated in Durban where the Zuma element is still solid.

No date for the meeting between the two is known, observers feel that Zuma can use such a conversation to strengthen his own position.

Zuma has advocated on social media and on a video that land in South Africa should be nationalized.
