General Bean and Agriculture MEC visits family of slain farmer, Kuruman

The John Taolo Gaetsewe Cluster Commander, Major General Johan Bean accompanied the Northern Cape MEC for Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development Ms Nobandla Bloem to pay visit to the family of murdered Ranger Eabile.

The Cluster Commander briefed the MEC regarding the developments and the investigation into the case.

“Four suspects were arrested and charged with murder, kidnapping and stock theft” he said. Three of four suspects are still in police custody since their arrest. While the fourth one was released on bail. Ranger was kidnapped and murdered, buried in a shallow grave in Galotlhare village, and 13 sheep were stolen and was recovered two weeks ago.

The MEC praised the police for their excellent work which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.

“Small holding farmers continue to contribute enormously to the economy of the country and they do not deserve to be killed or anyone to steal their livestock” she said. The small holding farmers in Galotlhare expressed their gratitude towards the police.

The MEC’s entourage visited the crime scene, where the deceased was buried.
