Provincial Organised Crime Unit together with members of Upington Detectives traced and arrested a man in Louisvale Weg informal settlement around Upington for the murder of Judith Redelinghuys on Wednesday, 4 November 2020.
On 30 June 2020 an elderly woman, Judith Redelinghuys (71), was found murdered and thrown into her swimming pool with her hands tied behind her back. It was later discovered that some jewellery from the deceased was missing.
The 34 year old man was positively linked to the incident after intensive police investigation.
The suspect will soon appear in the Upington Magistrates Court court.
The ZF Mgcawu District Commissioner Brigadier Johnny Besnaar applauded the members for the excellent investigation and team work which led to the meticulous arrest.
