Naledi Kgadiete(28), was sentenced in the Northern Cape High Court on 29 November 2017 for his role in the brutal murder of Kimberley resident Gershwin Swartz.
His body was found in a veld near Phutanang on 16 July 2016 after he was last seen at his home on 12 July 2016.
Kgadiete was sentenced to 12 years for assault with the intent to commit grievous bodily harm, 10 years for kidnapping and 22 years for murder, while the sentences will be running concurrently.
After going into a plea agreement, Kgadiete’s sentencing was separated from the other three co accused, who will be returning to the Northern Cape High Court next Friday for their trial.
