No one can compete with the policies of the African National Congress, party president Jacob Zuma said on Thursday.

“That is why when we go to an election no party develops their manifesto, they wait for the ANC and go and copy it [ANC manifesto],” Zuma said to the applause of the crowd in Letlhabile near Brits.

“The ANC is a guide. The ANC has a task to rebuild and reconstruct the country to create a society as envisage in the freedom charter. We need to be voted into power to move the country forward.”

Zuma was in Letlhabile to wrap up the ANC election campaigned in the Bojanala region of the North West leading to the local government election on August 3.

He said other political parties had nothing to offer to voters.

“They cannot tell you why should you vote for them. All they say is that the ANC is corrupt. They now claim Madiba [late former president Nelson Mandela], they forget what they did to Madiba. The party that claims Madiba is the child of the oppressor.”

He said the Democratic Alliance (DA) was formed by the National Party and the Democratic Party.

“The National Party introduced apartheid, they used to take us to court without any reason. The DA has the same tendency if they cannot argue they go to court. They use court as an instrument to undermine democratic debate.”

He said the DA was confused as it does not know whether it was black or white.

“[DA leader Mmusi] Maimane must accept he is a lost feather flying in the air not knowing where it will land.”

The United Democratic Movement and Congress of the People were also castigated, Zuma said they have disappeared.

He said the Economic Freedom Fighters was an angry organisation formed by an angry young man.
