Update: Boshoek farm attack, luckily sleeping baby unharmed

A pregnant woman, her baby and husband (25) and his brother (15) were severely traumatised during a farm attack in Boshoek near Rustenburg in the North West.

Captain Elsabe Augoustides, a police spokesperson, said the attack happened between 01:00 and 02:00 on Monday morning, 23 April 2018 on a smallholding.

The family was asleep when they were overpowered by three armed attackers. They were tied up with wire and the man was forced to open the safe. The baby was not harmed during the incident. The attackers gained entry by cutting an electric fence around the property.

The police are investigating a case of armed house robbery.

Augoustides also reported that a domestic worker was also attacked on the farm Doornpoort on Monday morning between Swartruggens and Koster. She was forced into the house and tied with cable ties. Luckily no one else was home at the time. However the armed suspect had traumatised the woman.
