Around 21H00 last night, March 6, farmer Kobus van Zyl was attacked by two suspects on his farm situated in Brits, between Beestekraal and Atlanta.
The suspects assaulted Kobus and fled with his bakkie, three hunting rifles, a pistol, and other valuable house items.
The farming community, police, and community security responded to the incident and a search for the suspects began, including a helicopter search.
Farmers from Atlanta, followed the suspects and members of KGBG helped set up a roadblock where one of the suspects was stopped and arrested, the other fled.
Kobus sustained minor injuries, and the vehicle with other stolen goods was recovered. However, there is no confirmation that the stolen firearms have been recovered.
The police are investigating the incident.
