The Lekwa Teemane municipality that includes Christiana has been closed since the beginning of the week.
Since the previous municipal manager was fired due to not having the correct qualifications, that post and three other senior posts were still not filled. It has apparently led to poor or no service delivery, and the residents took matters into their own hands and closed the offices.
The residents demand a conversation with the executive mayor, who has not yet been able to do so.
