Doornpan farm situated in the Ottosdal area was targeted on Friday, April 14.
Daan Pienaar exited his house at the usual time to go and check the cattle when he heard the dogs barking.
Pienaar saw a suspect near his vehicle and immediately returned to the house and alerted the community security and police.
A swift response from community safety and police ensured that no attack happened.
First Responders followed up on the tracks, and they were joined by two more sets. The tracks split up again, and the search was called off due to poor light.
The police are continuing with the investigation.
