ToekomsVonk calls on MTN to withdraw as a matter of urgency, following their withdrawal as sponsor of Afrikaans is Groot (AIG) due to Steve Hofmeyr’s participation, all sponsorships to groups such as the EFF, ANC and any other group that (a) promote farm murders , (b) openly speak of how white people in South Africa should be murdered, (c) or that make any other racist comments in the public.
It is shocking that MTN turned their backs on Afrikaans due to a tweet made by Steve Hofmeyr five years ago. Steve Hofmeyr is often labelled as a racist, although he has never been found guilty of racism, simply because he is a voice for a small minority group in South Africa who are persecuted based on their economic, cultural, historical and social status.
We appeal to our supporters to boycott MTN and turn their backs on them, just as MTN has turned their backs on the white, Afrikaanse minority in South Africa.
Furthermore, we call on every South African who believes in equality for everyone, to boycott MTN and any other sponsors that might withdraw, regardless of your feelings towards AIG or Steve Hofmeyr based on MTN’s one-sided racist action against Afrikaans and the people speaking the language, in South Africa.
MTN has shown clearly that they are approving and participating in the oppression of white, Afrikaans citizens in South Africa.
