Alertness and activating an alarm for the farming community and police to take action averted a possible farm attack in the Wakkerstroom Area, Mpumalanga on Thursday, February 2.
When the farmer got home and before he entered the gate, he activated the emergency alarm believing that a possible attack was about to happen.
The farming community received an emergency alert and immediately went to investigate. Upon arrival at the farm, it was noticed that the gate was closed and that the farmer was not at home that night.
By being cautious, the farmer averted a possible attack and other farmers are cautioned to raise an early warning signal to avoid farm attacks.
The South African Police are following up with an investigation.
