A farm murder took place on 25 April 2019, at 20:00 on a Welgedact smallholding North East of Springs and West of Delmas in the Gauteng province. An elderly man was shot twice in the chest through the kitchen window and died on the scene. There were two attackers. His petrified wife ran and hid in the veld and remained there until 03:00 before she went for help.
Nothing was taken during the farm attack and senseless and brutal murder of the man. It is however suspected that the man’s firearm may have been robbed as he was always armed. There have been no arrests and the police are investigating.
