Free State police have launched a manhunt for three armed men who bombed an ATM and shot and wounded two people at a shopping complex in Meqheleng, Ficksburg, on Wednesday night.
A 28-year-old woman was shot in her leg after buying electricity at the complex, and a 55-year-old man was shot in his mouth, Sergeant Martin Xuma said on Thursday.
The two were rushed to hospital in a stable condition. The criminals failed to take the money and fled on foot.
Cases of attempted murder and armed robbery were opened.
