Thursday 22 June 2023 The South African Police Service in Sekhukhune District arrested three males aged between 26 and 38 during an operation conducted on, Wednesday 21 June 2023 at Elandskraal policing area.
The operation consisted of members from Elandskraal Vispol, Sekhukhune Flying Squad, Masemola K9, Sekhukhune CI, Sekhukhune District members and other local stations.
The arrest follow an incident of mob attack that happened when a community torched a farm in Elandskraal on, Sunday 18 June 2023 belonging to a 42-year-old woman, who was arrested after assaulting and killing a man accused of stealing the goats.
Apparently, the community mobilised and threatened to burn a local tavern and house belonging to the 42-year-old woman.
The trio were arrested separately at their residence in Mbozeni, and Mararela village.
The suspects were charged with malicious damage to property, public violence and possessions of unlicensed firearm.
The Provincial Commissioner of SAPS Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has applauded the Police for ensuring that these suspects are arrested as this will send a clear message to community that unlawful acts are punishable by law.
The suspects will appear before Marble Hall magistrate court soon.
The Police investigations are still continuing.
