The South African Police Service in this Province condemns domestic related incidents which are still prevalent in some parts of the Province.
This condemnation follows an incident which took place in the Makhado Policing area outside Thohoyandou where a woman and her partner were found dead inside their bedroom.
It is alleged that the children heard a sound coming from their parent’s bedroom during the night but they did not suspect anything wrong and in the morning when they noticed that they are not coming out of the bedroom and the door is still locked, they called for help.
The door was then forced open and the Couple was found lying dead. The man aged 40 was lying dead in a pool of blood with a bullet wound and a firearm in his hand, his partner aged 34 years was found dead next to him also with a bullet wound in the upper body.
The motive behind this incident is not clear at this stage but domestic violence may not be ruled out.
The Police have since opened murder and inquest docket that are still under Police investigations.
Members of the Community are still advised and encouraged to resolve their differences and conflicts amicably by seeking professional intervention at the nearest authorities rather than resorting to violence including killing each other.
