Two shot in Pietermaritzburg hijacking
Four people shot in Windermere, Cape Town.

A 22-year-old man suffered a serious gunshot wound to his chest and another man was shot in the hand in Pietermaritzburg, ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said on Tuesday

“Shortly after 11pm paramedics from ER24 arrived on Bulwer street in Pietermaritzburg, where they found the 22-year-old in the middle of the road,” said Vermaak.

Paramedics found that the man had been shot in the chest. “Fortunately, he was awake and still orientated.”

Another man was found on the side of the road. He had a gunshot wound to his hand, but was in a stable condition.

Vermaak said both men said they had been hijacked and shot. It was not immediately clear what type of car they were driving when they were hijacked.

The injured pair were taken to a nearby hospital.

Police are investigating.
