After six months behind bars, the revolutionary student leader Bonginkosi Khanyile was granted bail of only R250 and is now released.
He was the leader of the #FeesMustFall protests in Natal, which led to the loss of millions of Rands of damage to university property when the protests became violent.
His case was argued before the Constitutional Court, and eventually reached a decision permitting him to be released on bail.
EFF welcomes his release because he called for “a good thing” battle.
Apparently, the only conditions is that he may not intimidate the staff or security guards of the Durban University of Technology, and he may not obstruct the police.
