Hijacking in Avoca, Durban

Marshall Security received a call from a client in Avoca, north of Durban on Wednesday evening at approximately 20:00, stating that she had just received a call from her husband, who informed her that he had been hijacked on his arrival at their home earlier in the evening.

An unknown number of armed suspects approached the man on his arrival at their premises, forcing him into the back of the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The victim was later dropped off by the suspects in KwaMashu, where he managed to make a call home to his wife for help.

Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team, along with the South African Police Services mobilized units to the area and the man was retrieved and returned home safe.

The vehicle taken is fitted with a tracking device and efforts to track and retrieve it are underway.

The incident will be investigated further by the South African Police Services.
