Raenne van der Wath is still in a critical condition in hospital. She is the young woman who was attacked in her kitchen with a machete by a farm worker at around 06:00 on Monday, 3 September 2018, on the farm Hummelo at Darnall, between Richards Bay and Durban.
Her husband Dale is the farm manager on the farm.
The motive for the attack is not known and the worker fled and was not arrested .
Raenne’s 2 year old daughter was also in the kitchen and the attack took place in front of her and she did everything in her power to prevent the child from being attacked also.
