Elderly farmer dies a week after horrific torture in farm attack

79-Year-old Trevor Rees who was a victim of a farm attack last week and who endured two days of torture and attacks has died.

Rees was not only attacked once but twice, the suspects first attacked Rees on Friday, February 3, tied him up and then returned to torture the ailing farmer the following day, before stealing valuable goods and his vehicle. Read the story – KZN farmer attacked, tortured in two-day ordeal

When paramedics found Rees, he was in a critical condition, still tied up and lying on the ground, covered in blood. He was taken to the Edendale Hospital in Pietermaritzburg and fought for his life the entire week. While he was in the hospital it was discovered that the suspects also shot him twice as well as savagely assaulting him.

The police recovered the abandoned vehicle and have yet to arrest the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing.
