On 11 July 2017 police foiled a CIT heist.Two firearms and two vehicles were recovered following chase and shootout with police.
Cash in Transit (CIT) Vehicle was attacked in Kwa Makuta. Police chased suspects who crashed their Fortuner in Lamontville and have fled. The suspects are alleged to have been travelling in a white Fortuner, Mercedes and a BMW.
SAPS Airwing and K9 Units were enlisted to assist. Police were involved in a shootout with the suspects.
One rifle and one pistol were recovered as well as a Mercedes.
