Killing sheep a way to destroy farmers financially

Carolina – Mr. Johan Combrink lost thirteen lambs that were killed by thieves with a fence pole. The sheep were all three months old, and were scattered all over where they were killed by cruel thieves.

Flip Cremer, Combrink’s neighbor, lost six sheep that were also stolen.

They chased Combrink’s sheep at night to Cremer’s farm where the animals were loaded and removed.

Cremer said the six stolen sheep are nothing strange, because there’s always thievery. During one incident 63 sheep were stolen. And the past year more than 70 sheep have been stolen.

Farmers say the blacks in squatter camps are stealing livestock and corn for their own use, and also sell the stolen goods to others at minimal prices.

When they are being caught, the first excuse is that they are hungry, but farmers say it is not true; it is a way to destroy farmers financially, because why are lambs being killed with a stick or pole and just left in the field?

Farmers complain that the stock theft unit of the police doesn’t have enough investigators, and many of them are uneducated and unable to do proper investigations.

Apparently there are only four investigators in the Eastern Transvaal and they must investigate all incidents of stock theft.
